SNMP 4X100M Ethernet over 4E1 Converter

1.Overview

ZCC-1104 is a Network Termination Unit connecting Fast Ethernet LANs over 4 E1 circuit. The device enables service providers to supply high-capacity Ethernet services to remote locations, and transparent connection of corporate LANs over existing E1 lines. The device can be used in point-to-point or in point-to-multipoint topology work together with Central unit ZCC-1200N/ZCC-1500. The device uses GFP encapsulation to map the Ethernet traffic over E1. Typical applications include:

  • Ethernet private Line / LAN services.
  • IP DSLAMs, Cellular IP, and WiMAX base station back-hauling.
  • Inter-office or Enterprise LAN connectivity.

    • CLI and TELNET: Local management is performed via an CLI or TELNET terminal.
    • SNMP: Compatible with V1 and V2C protocol. Access is available using SNMP management software "Smartview".
    • LED indication: Necessary alarm indications such as LOS, LOF, AIS.
    • Download online: Supports FTP protocol and firmware download online without disturbance of existing traffic.
  • EoPDH encapsulation
    • GFP-F encapsulation compliant to G.7041.
    • Ethernet to single E1 mapping recommendation ITU-T G.8040.
    • Ethernet to nxE1 mapping recommendation ITU-T G.7043.
    • Virtual concatenation (VCAT) and Link Capacit Adjustment Scheme (LCAS) recommendation ITU-T G.7042.
  • Diagnostics
    • Supports E1 loopback and the embedded E1 BERT (Bit Error Ratio Tester) testing function.
    • Supports E1 loopback detection: when some E1 signal is detected as looped back, it will be not employed for carrying payload temporarily, and when the loopback is broken, this E1 will resume to be used..
  • Others:

    • The E1s in the local and remote sides can be arranged arbitrarily, such as, the remote E1 port 1 can communicate with local E1 port 3.
    • Supports bandwidth unbalanced usage – when some E1s cannot work properly (i.e. the bandwidth of the sending and receiving can be 5E1 and 3E1 respectively).
    • The differential delay between any two of the 4 E1 can be up to 220ms.

4.Application

Figure 1-4-1 illustrates a typical application (point-to-point). With ZCC-1104 system, the Ethernet is transferred by 4E1. ZCC-1104 support OAM management frame-based E1 channel, by OAM frame, remote devices can be configured and monitored.

As shown in Figure.1-4-2, with EoPDH and VLAN technology, the remote Ethernet service can be transmitted and converged into the service center (Switch) by ZCC-1200N/ZCC-1500(point-to-multipoint). All devices support OAM management frame-based E1 channel, by OAM frame, all remote devices can be configured and monitored.
