Ethernet over PDH (24E1) Convergence Converter

1.Overview

ZCC-1200N is a Gigabit Ethernet over TDM aggregation gateway that interconnects packet networks via PDH access. It provides three gigabit Ethernet interfaces and 24 E1s interfaces. ZCC-1200N typically deployed at a central location, It aggregates user Ethernet traffic received from remote devices (such as ZCC-100, ZCC-101, ZCC-110, ZCC-110L), thus completing a full access solution from the service provider’s central site to the customer premises. ZCC-1200N can be used in the traffic convergent network, supports point-to-multipoint application. Other typical applications include:

  • IP DSLAM and IP base station traffic backhauling.
  • WiMAX BTS traffic backhauling.
  • Ethernet private line/LAN services.
  • Backhauling of network management traffic.
  • Aggregation of Ethernet traffic over PDH wireless links.

    • Supports E1 loopback and the embedded E1 BERT (Bit Error Ratio Tester) testing function.
    • Supports Ethernet loop back detection for each channel. If loopback event is detected, the channel can be configured to be blocked to prevent from broadcast storm.
  • Others:

    • The E1s in the local and remote sides can be arranged arbitrarily, such as, the remote E1 port 1 can communicate with local E1 port 3.
    • The differential delay between any two of the 24 E1 can be up to 220ms.

4.Application

In the application, the Ethernet service of each remote user can be carried by different VCG channels, each VCG can be assigned to 1~16 E1 flexibility and the total bandwidth of the 16 VCG channels cannot be exceeds 24E1s..

As shown in Figure1-4-1, with EoPDH and VLAN technology, the remote Ethernet service can be transmitted and converged into the service center (Switch) by ZCC-1200N (point-to-multipoint); ZCC-1200N support OAM management frame-based E1 channel, by OAM frame, all remote devices can be configured and monitored.
